AUSPICIOUS CHINESE NEW YEAR FESTIVAL AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL, JAKARTA


Jakarta, February 2013 - Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta will usher in the year of the Water Snake with a magnificent Chinese New Year celebration that will focus on the tradition of bringing good fortune and joy to the Lunar New Year. The celebration will start on Chinese New Year’s Eve, 10 February 2013, with a spectacular lion and dragon dance in the lobby, and continue with a sumptuous family feast.
 
Xin Hwa, a fine dining restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta, will be offering a Chinese New Year package which will feature festive delights named to bring good fortune to the New Year. The lavish set menu will treat guests to an abundance of mouth-watering and luck-promoting dishes including Yu Shang, Xin Hwa’s wood-charcoal roasted duck, and snowy skin Nian Gao dumplings – perfect to enjoy with the whole family and friends. All the food will be cooked by none other than Xin Hwa’s Executive Chinese Chef Jeff Lee who is one of the best in creating quintessential Chinese food with a delicious contemporary twist. Guests will also receive an angpao red envelope to signify good fortune during the New Year. This special Chinese New Year set menu is priced to start from IDR 588,000++ per person.



To end the festivities, guests will be invited to celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day, also known as the Qi Xi Festival, which falls on Saturday, 23 February 2013. The incredible evening will feature sumptuous 8-course dinner, dazzling Chinese New Year performances, a lion dance parade, a Tai Suey blessings ceremony and 2013 predictions by renowned geomancer and Feng Shui Master Joseph Chau from Hong Kong who has been practicing Feng Shui for well over 30 years. Tickets are priced at IDR 1,088,000++ per person.
