2000 Cupcake for Impoverished Children

To Pamper Children, Sheraton Media Distributed Thousands of Cupcake

Jakarta – July 2011. To commemorate the National Children Day, and to show appreciation as well as strong concern on the future of youth generation, Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers Jakarta has recently distributed 2000 cupcakes to thousands of children from unfortunate families, orphaned children, and homeless kids during the government annual event called “One Day for Children” hosted recently by the Ministry of Social of the Republic of Indonesia.

Aside from giving cupcakes, the hotel also participated in entertaining groups of marginalized children (Kelompok Anak Marjinal) who have been under counseling program of Social Department throughout Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi). The children consist of various groups and communities such as those are facing charges, children with physical disabilities, children with communication difficulties, homeless kids and children from unfortunate families.

According to Executive Assistant Manager Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers, Algamar Idris, his team has prepared a giant tart cake and 2000 cupcakes to share with children who were participating in the event of “One Day for Children”. The activity aimed at entertaining the children and thus showing that the hotel truly care about them.

“We are very proud of supporting government programs, particularly on efforts to help children with disabilities pursue their dream. This small action is a token, that we care about their future. Because we believe they will be the leaders of this nation in the future,” said Algamar.

In the one-day event, the Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers worked together with several non-government organizations as well as government bodies to pamper children through various educated and entertaining activities such as; traditional music performance, choir, dances, marching bands, theatrical show, etc.
