Two-Star Michelin Chef Olivier Bellin Presents Contemporary French Cuisine

Jakarta, 8 March 2013 - Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta invites guests to embark on a gastronomic journey to indulge in a world-class dining experience with two-star Michelin Chef Olivier Bellin, from 21-23 March 2013 at its French restaurant, Lyon.

Chef Bellin, who is a native of Brittany, is a famous French chef and owner of L’Auberge des Glazicks restaurant in Plomodiern, France. In 2012, Chef Bellin was listed as one of the 158 best chef in the world by Les Grandes Tables du Monde, a prestigious association of great chefs and restaurants covering four continents. At a young age he worked with some of the great French Chefs, including Joël Robuchon and Jacques Thorel, at La Roche-Bernard. In 1998, he took up the challenge of turning his parents’ inn into a top restaurant. Over time, and with the support of Alain Ducasse who invited him to participate in the food France concept, he managed to develop his cuisine and later, in 2005, won his first Michelin Star. In 2010, he received his second Michelin Star and won a Gault et Millau gold medal.

Chef Bellin 

Chef Bellin offers contemporary French cuisine while keeping it sublime, authentic and original - mixing together famous Brittany produces such as lobsters, oysters and buckwheat. One of his outstanding dishes, the "Fried Lobster, chorizo ​​and tomato condiments", was presented at Master Chef France 2011 to be reproduced by Master Chef candidates. During his three day visit to Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta, Chef Bellin will present exceptional cuisine with a special menu at lunch and dinner, a Chef's table and a cooking class.

AUSPICIOUS CHINESE NEW YEAR FESTIVAL AT MANDARIN ORIENTAL, JAKARTA

Jakarta, February 2013 - Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta will usher in the year of the Water Snake with a magnificent Chinese New Year celebration that will focus on the tradition of bringing good fortune and joy to the Lunar New Year. The celebration will start on Chinese New Year’s Eve, 10 February 2013, with a spectacular lion and dragon dance in the lobby, and continue with a sumptuous family feast.

Menu Serba Mangga di Sukhothai Restaurant

Jakarta, November 2012 - Kemana orang dapat menikmati kelezatan menu Thailand yang unik nan kreatif? Sukhothai Thai Restaurant yang berada di lantai 6 The Media Hotel & Towers di bilangan Gunung Sahari No. 3 Jakarta menjawab pertanyaan itu. Restoran khas negeri Gajah Putih itu kini menggelar promo bertajuk “Thai Mango Delight”, sebuah promo hidangan kreatif khas Thailand yang unik dan lezat.

Promo ini menjadi satu-satunya promo paling kreatif-inovatif dalam sejarah perkembangan menu masakan Thailand di Indonesia. Para juru masak di restoran kelas fine dining tersebut mempersiapkan apa yang secara tradisional orang Thailand sebut “Mamuang Promo” atau “Thai Mango Delight” yang mana terdiri dari 7 macam menu kreasi baru yang semuanya terbuat dari buah mangga matang. Menerapkan metode memasak khas Thailand, setiap menu diolah dengan buah mangga matang dan menggunakan berbagai bumbu tropis. Walhasil, tercipta hidangan inovatif yang unik dan lezat .

“Ini adalah kreasi menu yang tidak bakal ditemukan di restoran manapun. Kami jamin, tamu dapat menikmati menu tersebut hanya di Sukhothai Restaurant,” ujar Herinova, Director of Food and Beverage The Media Hotel & Towers.

Para pengunjung restoran dapat mencoba Fried Chicken Spring Roll with Mango Chutney dan Yam Mamuang (atau Salad Mangga) sebagai menu pembuka.  Petualangan kuliner berlanjut dengan asam pedasnya Tom Yum Soup yang sudah sangat terkenal. Untuk menu utama, Herinova telah mempersiapkan empat macam menu kreatif berbasis buah mangga, yaitu Grilled Crab mixed with Ripe Mango and Vermicelli Noodle in Claypot, Stir Fried Green Mussel mixed with Sweet & Sour Ripe Mango, Baked Chicken in Red Mango Curry, dan Grilled Prawn with Mango Sauce. Petualangan kuliner tak hanya sampai disitu karena tamu masih dapat menikmati menu penutup berupa Es Krim Mangga Goreng yang dalam bahasa Thailand disebut Aisa Krim Mamuang Kao Tord.

“Sebagai negara tropis, kita kaya akan buah Mangga, dan alangkah baiknya menciptakan menu baru yang unik dan kreatif dengan berbahan dasar buah Mangga matang. Tentunya, menu baru ini sangat menyehatkan, segar, lezat dan unik,” papar Herinova.
